En mai 2008, Réjean Roy, journaliste et écrivain, a fondé L'arc-en-ciel littéraire (AECL). Cet organisme à but non lucratif incorporé au Québec (no. 1165203267) a pour mandat de regrouper les auteurs LGBT dans le but de mettre fin à leur isolement et de leur offrir une meilleure visibilité.
L'organisme en question veut mettre l'accent sur la reconnaissance des auteurs gais, sur la promotion de leurs titres et sur la diffusion de notre littérature.
L'arc-en-ciel littéraire est principalement une maison d'édition qui publie des collectifs de nouvelles ou de poésie afin de faire connaître de nouveaux talents et de promouvoir les auteurs contemporains de la communauté LGBT. En tout, ce sont 30 auteurs qui ont été publiés par L'arc-en-ciel littéraire depuis sa création. Un véritable succès!
